So one of my favorite memories when I was younger was decorating sugar cookies. My mom has an AMAZING sugar cookie recipe. It is so good that I no longer will eat any other sugar cookies. However, decorating cookies is always more fun with kids. Well, since I don't have any of my own. I decided to borrow some for a night!:) Matt and Lindsay needed a baby sitter for a night which provided the perfect opportunity. I baked the cookies the night before and the nieces brought thier aprons and we played.
Oops! We don't have a table cloth. Out come the old towels! Shae and Audrey concentrating on their creations and Liza eating cookies.

Liza was content to just sit in her chair as long as we kept pieces of cookie coming her way! Look at those teeth! How can you not adore this face!!!

This is my first attempt at uploading a video...so here goes nothin'! My aunt gave me this balloon when I was in the hospital. Over a month later it is still standing, but looking a little ragged after Liza got to it. She LOVED playing with the balloon pretty much all night. We were watching Shrek so she gets a little distracted during the middle, but it was so fun watching her play with the balloon.

I'm so glad that I can provide opportunitites for you to keep your traditions.:) That video of Liza is hilarious! I'm sure it was even more fun in person. The girls loved decorating, and eating of course, those yummy cookies! Our girls are lucky to have such an amazing aunt and uncle! Thanks again!
Your nieces are so cute! It looks like you had a blast. Here's my question...how did you get your frosting to have such vibrant colors? My red is only that red if I start with pink frosting and add exponential amounts of red and I've never gotten my green to look like that. Anyway, it's awesome and you're awesome for doing it!
Tricia, the key is to use the special icing colorings from the craft store. To get really deep colors you still have to add quite a bit, but you can definately get some rich colors.
You certainly look comfortable with a baby on your lap. It looks so natural.
